Gainsborough, Monday 7th November 2022: Local packaging manufacturer Coveris has raised £9,225 for the charity Prostate Cancer UK. Coveris, a supplier of sustainable packaging solutions to leading brands and retailers across Europe, took part in Prostate Cancer UK’s The Big Golf Race challenge.

In preparation for the Big Golf Race, Coveris Gainsborough enthusiastically organised games, raffles and sponsorships to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. 33 colleagues from Coveris’ Gainsborough site spent the day competing against one another at Thonock Park Golf Club as part of the Big Golf Race. Donations and proceeds from games, raffles and sponsorships have now been fully counted and Coveris’ employees are thrilled to have raised a fantastic £9,225 for the charity.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK and kills one man every 45 minutes, the same time it takes to play three holes of golf. Coveris wanted to support Prostate Cancer UK’s vital research into life-saving treatments and the money raised will help the charity to provide practical support to men and their families.

Ginny Sewell, Senior Internal Account Executive at Coveris Gainsborough and organiser of the site’s Big Golf Race challenge, said, “We are so pleased to have been able to raise an incredible £9,225 for Prostate Cancer UK. Our enthusiastic golfers had a fantastic day and were thrilled to support such a worthwhile cause by taking part in The Big Golf Race challenge. Thank you to our sponsors and Coveris colleagues whose support made the event so successful and helped us to raise such a great amount for Prostate Cancer UK.”
